Earth-friendly Amtico flooring has been a champion of green practices since 1993, when its tile facility in England became the first in the world to meet ISO 14001 standards. The firm’s plant in Madison, Georgia, which opened in 2002, also has the ISO 14001 seal of approval.
Amtico Flooring is a member of RFCI, a supporter of the FloorScore (PDF) program for indoor air quality, and in October 2007, the Greenguard Environmental Institute (PDF) awarded Amtico Flooring with the Greenguard Environmental Institute Certificate (PDF) for low emitting products and materials.
In Madison, 40% of the firm’s product is recycled material, and energy & water usage have declined by 2% per year. To contain solvent fumes, spraying is done in an enclosed chamber modeled after an auto industry spray paint booth. Amtico Flooring reuses all pallets and drums in its supply chain. It also sells and recommends only eco-friendly adhesives.

Amtico Flooring is far more resistant to indentation or gouging than most woods and won’t chip or crack like tile. This makes us the perfect choice for busy families and customers with concerns about pets.
It also is warmer, quieter (no loud hollow noise like laminates), and softer to stand on.
Amtico Flooring will also not be prone to the shrinkage, stability, and delaminating problems that affect other LVT products that contain filler-based cores.
